In this film David Shrigley takes us on a tour and introduces us to the works in Lose Your Mind.

Quintessentially Shrigley

The British Council Touring Exhibition Lose Your Mind brings together a quintessentially ‘Shrigley-esque’ collection of the artist’s work.

Best known for his crudely composed and mordantly humorous drawings, David Shrigley is an acclaimed and highly popular British artist.

Shrigley’s distinctive style and wry sense of humour pervade all areas of his work, from his drawings, photography and painting to his sculpture, taxidermy, animation and spoken word projects.

Nominated for the Turner Prize in 2013, he has also written books, designed a mascot for Scottish football club, Partick Thistle, and was recently awarded the Fourth Plinth Commission, for which he will exhibit a bronze sculpture of a giant ‘thumbs up’ in Trafalgar Square in London later this year.

The exhibition is showing at the Instituto Cultural Cabañas in Guadalajara, Mexico until 28 February 2016. It will then tour to other countries in Latin America, before it heads to East Asia.
